Course Content
This course is delivered by a team of established and practising artists and designers who will provide one-to-one support guiding you as you develop your portfolio. It covers a range of Art disciplines within fine art and design including drawing, painting, two-dimensional design, three-dimensional design, sculpture, print making techniques and observational drawing. This course is designed to further your skills and allow you to find the subject which best suits your interests and ambitions, allowing you to progress on to specialist subject areas within the Art and Design department.
Entry Requirements
Minimum of 2 relevant Nat 5/equivalent qualifications, preferred English and Art/Design or successful completion of a relevant SCQF level 5 course (and minimum 85% attendance on this course). At interview, applicants should bring a portfolio of art and design work such as drawings/designs/photography. Digital portfolio submissions are also accepted. Mature candidates without formal qualifications will be considered on the presentation of a portfolio.
Method of Assessment
Continuous internal/external assessment with the focus on portfolio production and submission.
Future Prospects
Successful learners may progress onto our HNC/HND Art and Design level courses in our department.
