AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping (SCQF Level 7)
Course Content
This qualification develops complex skills and knowledge necessary for a bookkeeping role, progression to higher-level accountancy roles, or further study.
Learners will become competent in financial processes, including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping, and preparing financial statements. They will also be introduced to business issues regarding payroll and VAT, including understanding the documents and reports produced on payroll software and timescales for submissions and payments.
The course is delivered through online material or taught classes and textbooks. AAT registration (required at the start of the course), exam fees and textbooks are not included in course fees.
Entry Requirements
AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping or AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting would be advantageous. However, we will also consider applicants with knowledge and experience in Accounting.
Method of Assessment
Assessed by AAT using computer-based assessments. On successful completion, learners will be awarded by the Association of Accounting Technicians.
Future Prospects
If you successfully complete this qualification, you can apply to become an AAT bookkeeping member (AATQB), and if you're thinking of starting your own practice, you'll be able to apply to become an AAT Licensed Bookkeeper.
Achieving this qualification could benefit individuals looking to work in roles such as a Professional Bookkeeper, Senior Bookkeeper, Accounts Manager or Ledger Manager.
In addition, the units in this course form part of the AAT Diploma in Accounting framework, and as such, successful learners could look to achieve the full Diploma in Accounting award and subsequently study toward achieving the Diploma in Professional Accounting.
