Course Content

Choose your pathway, Hospitality or Professional Cookery, and gain hands-on experience alongside essential theory.

You will explore exciting units such as Barista Skills, Mixology and Bar Service, Leadership, Food and Beverage Service, and Event Management. For aspiring chefs, the Professional Cookery route develops advanced culinary techniques and the ability to create complex dishes using a variety of methods.

Training takes place in our Taste training restaurant and fully equipped commercial kitchens, giving you a realistic, professional environment to perfect your skills. 

Entry Requirements

To have completed a full-time SCQF Level 5 qualification in Hospitality and/or Professional Cookery. A keen interest in hospitality and professional cookery with a view to progressing onto HNC Hospitality Operations or HNC Professional Cookery. Applicants may be asked to provide a reference.

Method of Assessment

Internal continuous assessments using various methods including open and closed book assessments, observations and projects.

Future Prospects

This course has been designed to meet the growing needs of the hospitality industry, allowing the learner the opportunity to go straight into employment or progress into HNC Hospitality Operations or HNC in Professional Cookery.
