VTCT Fast Track to Hairdressing

Course Content

Fast Track to Hairdressing will give you the knowledge and skills to be able to kick start a career in hairdressing in only 16 weeks. You will learn practical skills in hairdressing by working on each other, family, friends and clients. You will practice and study shampooing and conditioning hair, styling, including plaiting & twisting hair, and basic haircutting. This course is an ideal starting point for those with enthusiasm and motivation for the hairdressing industry.

Entry Requirements

All we ask is for you to be interested and motivated within the Hairdressing subject. For applicants for whom English is not their first language then ESOL at SCQF level 5 is required as excellent communication skills are needed.

Method of Assessment

You will be observed carrying out services on each other, family, friends and clients. Some research and assignments will be required to gain the knowledge needed.

Future Prospects

This course can lead to:

• Further study at Level 1 or potentially Level 2 Hairdressing, depending on experience and skills.
• The opportunity to study MA SVQ Level 2 within a salon to continue your studies.
• Gaining employment within a salon as an assistant to develop your skills.
