Abertay University

Abertay is a small, modern university based in the centre of Dundee. We’re an ambitious, forward-thinking institution, offering degree programmes to prepare you for careers in the modern world.

Angus Council

Angus Council manages the education provision in Angus. We currently have:

  • 51 primary schools
  • 8 secondary schools.

The Education and Lifelong Learning Directorate within the council works with families and other partners to make sure that all of our children and young people have the opportunity to achieve, while maximising inclusion and reducing inequalities.

Our care and learning offer support every child and young person to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes which will enable them to make their way in the world.


Angus Virtual School

To support school and system change in Angus, a virtual school was established in April 2018.

The Angus Virtual School's (AVS) aim is to develop the capacity within schools and clusters to improve learning by supporting the development of schools as learning organisations within the context of children’s services. 



A partnership between the public, private, academic and third-sector organisations. The purpose is to build the strength of the Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors in Dundee and the wider Tayside region internally through:
partnership working, networking, knowledge and skills development. While externally promoting and positioning the region to relevant audiences as fundamentally contributing to Scotland's world-class Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors.

Dundee is home to one of the most exciting life sciences clusters in the UK, with world-class companies, universities and research institutes all within a 3-mile radius.


Developing the Young Workforce Tay Cities

Across Tayside there is a pressing need to make sure young people have the right skills and experience to enter fulfilling careers and grow our local economy. Here at Developing the Young Workforce Tay Cities we facilitate meaningful partnerships between business and education to provide work-based learning opportunities for young people and better prepare them for their future career. We bring together local schools, colleges and businesses to offer skills development and learning opportunities, to ensure that more young people enter a positive destination when they leave education and start their career journey.

Dundee Science Centre

Dundee Science Centre is an attraction & educational charity promoting hands-on science learning experiences.

We are here to help families learn together, to support the formal school’s curriculum, advance the science communication profession, bring together science and the public, and help others to do the same too.

Our exhibitions provide an inspiring, hands-on learning experience for everyone to visit. Our outreach work and festivals also help us take the same experiences across Scotland and beyond.


Education Scotland

Education Scotland is a Scottish Government executive agency charged with supporting quality and improvement in Scottish education and thereby securing the delivery of better learning experiences and outcomes for Scottish learners of all ages.


ESP (Energy Skills Partnership) Scotland

ESP (Energy Skills Partnership) is the college sector agency in Scotland for energy, engineering, construction and STEM whilst leading on the Climate Emergency Skills Action Plan. 


Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP)

Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc is a world class Innovation Parc focused on sustainable mobility and decarbonisation.

With a 32-hectare site and excellent physical connectivity, MSIP has dynamic space that can adapt to all sizes of business. As well as large, flexible space, tenants will have access to an innovation campus, a skills academy, business support and competitive, green energy delivered from sustainable sources.

Underpinning all activities at MSIP is a collaborative approach to achieve the goal of net zero.



MVV Environment provides sustainable and efficient solutions for waste-fired energy generation to publicly and privately owned waste disposal companies, and to local authorities. The energy from waste facility will use up to 220,000 tonnes of residual (general) waste per year for the generation of usable energy. 


Robertson Tayside

We are one of the UK's largest family-owned construction, infrastructure and support services businesses. Together with our customers we invest, develop, construct and maintain across the whole built environment.

Since opening our Tayside office in 2005, we’ve been delivering for local authorities, healthcare and education providers and private sector customers throughout Dundee, Angus and Perthshire.


Skills Development Scotland (SDS)

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is Scotland’s national skills body. We contribute to Scotland’s sustainable economic growth by supporting people and businesses to develop and apply their skills. We work with our partners to provide services that deliver the very best outcomes for Scotland’s people, businesses and the economy. 



SSERC offers a broad portfolio of services, principally but not solely, in support of the STEM areas of the curriculum, which are often not available from any other source, and which can be broken down into three main stands of activity:

  • Provision of Professional Learning (PL)
  • The Advisory Service which offers key health and safety guidance on all aspects of STEM education
  • STEM engagement activities
