We’re committed to fairness for everyone.
The steps we take help make sure Dundee and Angus College follows the Equality Act 2010 and treats everyone fairly.
We want equality to be part of everything we do, so all staff work to make sure our services are inclusive and accessible to all.
LGBT+ events and activities
Join us throughout the year for a wide range of events, from LGBT History Month celebrations to workshops, talks, and social gatherings. These events are a great way to meet new people, share experiences, and celebrate the diversity and strength of our community.
Whether you're looking to learn, connect, or just have fun, there's something for everyone.
Inclusive spaces
While all our campuses are inclusive, we’re proud to offer dedicated spaces where LGBT+ students can feel safe, supported, and valued.
These spaces are designed to be welcoming and inclusive environments where you can connect with others, access advice, and find guidance when needed.
You’ll find these inclusive spaces in the Student Services, DASA, and Learner Engagement areas on every campus.
How to update your name at college
We understand that names are personal and important. Here’s how we can support you in updating your name at Dundee and Angus College:
For official records (like SQA results, course or funding applications):
You’ll need to provide legal documentation, such as:
- A deed poll or
- A statutory declaration
These are required for any formal name changes on official documents.
For your preferred name (also known as your “known as” name):
If you haven’t legally changed your name yet, that’s okay! We can still update your preferred name on our internal systems; no legal documents are needed.
Just visit Student Services or speak to a staff member at any Help Point, and we’ll be happy to help.
Feedback and improvement
At Dundee and Angus College, we believe everyone deserves the chance to thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment. We’re committed to creating a college where all students, regardless of their identity, can be their authentic selves and reach their full potential.
We’re always working to strengthen our support for LGBT+ students, and your voice matters.
If you have ideas, suggestions, or feedback, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can keep making our college a place where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
