Prizegiving information

This page explains what to expect on the evening so you can relax and enjoy the experience.

Arrival and Registration

• Please arrive at Gardyne Campus and go to the registration desk beside the Help Point.
• A member of staff will confirm your attendance and give you:
  • Your ticket with a reserved seat number
  • Guest tickets
  • Drink tokens
• The ceremony takes place in the Gardyne Theatre.

Seating Arrangements

• Prize winners will be seated together at the back of the theatre.
• Guests will sit in a separate, unallocated seating area.
• Prize winners enter the theatre first, followed by guests and other attendees.

Before the ceremony begins, staff will explain exactly what will happen when it’s your turn to go on stage.

What Happens During the Ceremony

On the evening:

• Take your seat in the theatre using your reserved seat number.
• There will be a short briefing and a couple of short speeches.
• When your prize is coming up, a staff member will ask you to:
  • Leave your seat
  • Queue on the right-hand stairway
• As students queue, others in the row will move along towards the start of the row.

Going on Stage

When your name is called:

• Walk onto the stage
• Stop in the centre to receive your prize and pause briefly for a photo
• Leave the stage from the other side, where you’ll receive your certificate
• Go up the stairs and return to your original row

Prizegiving is a relaxed and celebratory event. Our team will be there throughout the evening to help, so just enjoy the moment - you’ve earned it!
