Industry Week Inspires Hospitality and Professional Cookery Students
Our Hospitality and Professional Cookery students kicked off Semester 2 in the best possible way with Industry Week - a programme of activities designed to motivate, inspire and prepare them for their future careers.
Throughout the week, students took part in a wide range of activities including expert talks, hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, site visits and taster sessions. These experiences gave them valuable insight into the industry while allowing them to learn from, connect with and be inspired by experienced professionals.
Highlights included chocolate-making masterclasses led by Lecturer Craig, mocktail creation during a distillery tour at Arbikie Distillery, bakery demonstrations from Goodfellow and Steven and Forfar Bridie, as well as career talks delivered by NHS and Business Gateway.
Students also learned from some of the most respected names in the sector, with on-campus demonstrations from Chef Ruman of the Old Course and Executive Chef Martin Hollis from St Andrews Links.
Visits to renowned venues such as V&A Dundee, Malmaison, Apex Hotel, Hotel Indigo and more gave students first-hand experience of the diverse and exciting opportunities available within the hospitality industry.
A huge thank you to our fantastic industry partners for sharing their expertise and supporting our students every step of the way.
