Floor Curling Championship Kicks Off Exciting New Collaboration

Just before the April break, over 150 of our sports students took to the floor for our first-ever departmental indoor curling championship, held across both our Gardyne and Arbroath campuses.

The event marked the exciting launch of our new partnership with Curl Dundee and Scottish Curling, aimed at raising awareness of the sport and strengthening the future coaching workforce.

A huge thank you to the Lord Provost of Dundee, who officially opened the tournament, and to our guests from Curl Dundee and Scottish Curling for their support throughout the day.

Principal Simon Hewitt, Vice Principal Julie Grace and other staff members came along to show their support and also had a go at throwing a stone themselves - with varying degrees of success!

Our HND Sports Coaching students did a fantastic job planning and delivering the event, showing real leadership and enthusiasm.

A special mention goes to Hammy McMillan from Team Mouat, who took time out of his packed schedule at the World Men’s Curling Championship in Moose Jaw to send our students a good luck message - a real highlight for many.
