A Term of Achievement and Celebration at Dundee and Angus College

As another successful academic year comes to an end, the past six weeks have provided many opportunities to celebrate the achievements of students across Dundee and Angus College.

From graduations and awards ceremonies to recognising outstanding achievements, it has been a time of pride, success and inspiration.

DFN Project SEARCH Graduation

This year's DFN Project SEARCH graduation celebrated the achievements of eight students who successfully completed the life-changing transition-to-employment programme for young people with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions.

The ceremony took place at Ninewells Hospital, where certificates were presented by Julie Grace, Vice Principal of Dundee and Angus College; Dave Berry, Director of Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership; and Kevin Colclough, Associate Director of People and Culture at NHS Tayside.

Student, Jack, who has greatly benefitted from the programme this past year, delivered an inspiring speech highlighting its impact - “I have become more adaptable, independent and learned to use my voice in the world – now I cannot stop talking! DFN Project SEARCH has provided me with the skills and confidence to enter the world of work, and I'm looking forward to gaining more experience and continuing my development."

This year has been particularly successful for the programme, with four new rotations introduced across additional departments. Two students secured fixed-term employment before Christmas, four received awards for outstanding achievement and commitment at Dundee and Angus College's Prizegiving ceremony, and the Ninewells programme was recognised nationally with the DFN Project SEARCH Founder and Patrons Award for transformational outcomes.

Congratulations again to this year’s graduates: Aidan Gallacher, Blair Nicol, Cameron Forbes, Jack MacGregor, Jimmy McCubbin, Kheanna Regan, Laurie Graham Basten and Roan Hunter.

ESOL Graduation

Over the past few weeks, our ESOL graduation ceremonies have celebrated the hard work, determination and achievements of students from across the globe.

The events were filled with smiles, applause and plenty of proud moments as students came together with classmates, staff and their supporters.

These celebrations highlighted the diversity of our college community and the dedication shown by every student along the way.

Congratulations again to all of our ESOL students - we wish you every success for the future!

CECA Graduation

After 18 weeks of hard work and hands-on learning, our latest CECA Academy cohort celebrated their graduation, marking the completion of a programme designed to prepare students for careers in groundwork.

The event welcomed graduates, friends, family members and industry representatives to celebrate the students' achievements. It also provided valuable opportunities for graduates to network with employers and take part in informal interviews as they prepare for the next stage of their careers.

We congratulate all of this year's graduates and wish them every success as they take their next steps into industry.
