Lecturer Showcases Artwork at This Year's Aberdeen Art Fair
We are delighted to share that our very own Ian Ritchie, Lecturer in Art & Design at Dundee & Angus College, will be showcasing his work at this year's Aberdeen Art Fair.
Two of the standout works on display are The Ballad of Kate McCannon and Jolene, which feature two members of staff from Dundee & Angus College, Gemma Knox and Ellis Sandeman. These works of art will be featured along with some of Ian's other Victorian and Southern Gothic ladies.
The Ballad of Kate McCannon is inspired by a song of the same name by contemporary Canadian Country and Western singer Colter Wall, a dark and gripping track that fits perfectly with Ian's gothic aesthetic. And of course, Jolene is a nod to the iconic song by Dolly Parton.
The Aberdeen Art Fair kicks off with a preview on Friday, 30th August, from 6 pm to 9 pm, with the main event running throughout the weekend until Sunday 1st September. Held at the Music Hall on Union Street, Aberdeen, the fair is open to all with free entry from 10 am until 5 pm both days.
Why not pop along and check out Ian's work along with the other amazing artists at the Aberdeen Art Fair?
