Enterprise Dragons Competition
YES Bridge 2 Business Entrepreneurial College of the Year
A total of nine intrepid business owners braved the Enterprise Dragons’ den this year in a bid for a share of £5000 investment money.
This year’s participants covered a wide variety of business ideas ranging from barbering to funeral arrangements, high-end baby clothing to slate artistry.
They faced a tough team of experienced dragons including Steven Drake from Thorntons Law, Alison Henderson from Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, Morag Dennis from the renowned city retail centre, Overgate and Liz Jackson, the manager of one of Scotland’s top recruitment agencies, Fairways.
Four of the nine participants were successful with the ‘Kilted Barber’ being awarded £500 and ‘Ari London’ scooping £2,500 for their high-end clothing business.
The two other successful competitors are based at our own business incubator facility at our Gardyne Campus. ‘Bibs and Pieces’ and ‘Pretty Little Pink’ joined the incubator programme at the beginning of 2018 and are making impressive progress in their quest for business growth. Both of them were awarded £1000 of investment to help them accelerate that process.
