SVQ Level 4 Advice and Guidance
Course Content
The course comprises eight units, four of which are mandatory: Develop interactions with advice and guidance clients; Manage personal caseload; Evaluate and develop own contribution to the service; Operate within networks.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have been in continuous employment (paid or voluntary) as managers within various advice and guidance sectors for a minimum of 12 months and working at least 16 hours per week in their current post. Applicants must be responsible for professional work activities requiring a substantial degree of personal autonomy and/or responsibility for managing staff within the sector in which they operate, for example, careers guidance, employment advice, money advice, housing advice, specialist advice and guidance services.
Method of Assessment
Reflective reports and observations within an e-portfolio.
Future Prospects
Recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration requirements.
