SVQ Level 3 Playwork
Course Content
This is a work-based qualification and all evidence produced must be in relation to the individual's job role and responsibility. The award is made up of nine units, five of which are mandatory: Contribute to an organisational framework that reflects the needs and protects the rights of children and young people; Develop and Maintain a Healthy, Safe and Secure Environment for Children; Develop and Promote Positive Relationships; Plan and Support Self-Directed Play; Reflect On and Develop Practice. In addition to the above, four further units must be chosen from a number of optional units.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be in continuous employment in a Children and Young People setting for a minimum of 16 hours per week (paid or voluntary) with a minimum of 6 months' experience. They must have a sound understanding of current guidance and frameworks, legislation, policies and procedures applicable to the work setting. Selection will be by interview.
Method of Assessment
Reflective reports and observations within an e-portfolio.
Future Prospects
Recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration requirements.
