VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Womens Hairdressing
Course Content
This course is designed to develop your knowledge, understanding and required skills to prepare you for employment as a junior hairdresser.
Training at D&A Hair School will boost your confidence and enhance your job prospects, with guidance from experienced instructors in exceptional facilities and hands-on experience with paying clients using professional products.
The course is held on campus, combining practical classes, project work, online exams and some home study, with classes 2-3 days a week
Entry Requirements
We look for Level 1 VTCT qualification in hairdressing and/or relevant industry experience preferably with two National 4/equivalent qualifications. For applicants whom English is not your first language then ESOL at SCQF Level 5 or equivalent is required as excellent communication skills are needed. Enthusiasm for the Hairdressing Industry and a creative flair is an advantage. You may be invited to a group information session and online interview and potentially asked to complete a skills test. A reference may be required.
All applicants should be 16 year or older before the start of the course.
Method of Assessment
You will be observed carrying out services on clients working in our D&A Hair and Beauty school. You will be required to do research and complete assignments and e-learning modules to gain the knowledge required to pass this course. You will have several online exams and will be required to self-study regularly throughout the academic year to help achieve exam success.
You will study Health and Safety; Client Consultation; Shampoo and Conditioning Hair; Researching Working in the Hair Industry; Cutting Women's Hair; Colour and Lighten Hair and the Art of Dressing Hair at a minimum.
Future Prospects
Progression onto a Level 3 Hairdressing course and/or employment in a wide variety of industries as a Junior Hairdresser.
