PDA Cyber Resilience
Course Content
This course focuses on practical skills and professional practice in cyber security. It’s designed for anyone who understands the growing need for cyber security - whether you’re working, looking for a new role, or recently graduated from a different field. By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to help make organisations safer and more resilient.
What you’ll study:
- Cyber Resilience – How to protect systems and recover from attacks
- Data Security – Keeping information safe and secure
- Social Engineering – Understanding and preventing human-based attacks
- Professionalism and Ethics in Cyber Security – Acting responsibly in the digital world
This course is taught over 16 weeks at 6 hours per week. Classes will be scheduled in the evening from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. One class will be on campus, and the other will be online.
This course is fully funded by the Tay Cities Digital Project.
Entry Requirements
Applicants need to be ready to study at SCQF level 7.
For entry we will consider:
- Existing qualifications at SCQF level 6 and above
- Relevant work experience, which can be discussed with a member of staff

Method of Assessment
Your progress will be assessed throughout the course. You’ll complete a mix of tasks such as written reports, presentations, exams, and hands-on cyber security projects. This approach helps you build practical skills and apply what you learn in real-world scenarios.
Future Prospects
Successful completion can lead to full-time qualifications in Cyber Security and improved job prospects.
