Course Content

This course provides learners with a unique combination of classroom study and a practical work placement.

During the course, learners will develop essential skills in: Microsoft Office 365, Medical Terminology, Audio Typing and Social Media for Customer Service.

This course is ideal for individuals seeking experience in an office environment or those looking to change career paths into an admin role.

Learners will have the opportunity to gain an SVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration, achieved through their work placement experience. Please note that some placements may require a Standard Disclosure.  

Entry Requirements

Preferably a minimum of three passes at National 5 (including English or equivalent) or completion of an introductory-level qualification (Fast Track to Business, Administration & Accounts) or Certificate Level Course (may require a reference from Group Tutor). Mature applicants will be assessed on an individual basis taking into account work and life experiences and may be required to undertake a levelling exercise. All applicants are subject to a selection process to assess suitability for the course.

Method of Assessment

A mixture of SQA Level 5/6 and SVQ work based units assessed continuously throughout the year.

Future Prospects

Success completion with satisfactory reference may guarantee an interview with the NHS, employment in an entry level business/administrative role or progression to HNC Level courses.
