HND Textiles (Fashion and Textiles Design) (Year 2)
Course Content
This hands-on course is aimed at creative individuals interested in textile design for the fashion and interiors industries, developing creative thinking, making and design skills through research, sketchbooks and practical work.
You will study pattern cutting and garment construction to produce a fashion garment, stitched textiles, fashion and interior trends, design and developmental drawing with media exploration, screen-printing, sustainability, and digital imaging. You will learn about job roles within the industry, producing a strong portfolio for university or professional progression. The course also offers live projects, links to local companies, fashion shows and exhibition opportunities.
Entry Requirements
To progress into this HND-level course, learners must successfully complete all HNC units with satisfactory attendance, timekeeping and commitment.
Method of Assessment
Continuous internal/external assessment with the focus on portfolio production and submission.
