Course Content
This course provides the skills, knowledge and experience to advance your career within the Social Care sector. You must be employed and have been in your current post for at least 6 months.
With the employer's endorsement, this opportunity can allow those employed in a health or social care setting to undertake this programme part-time flexibly.
Entry Requirements
Two Highers at grade C or above and working in a care setting for a minimum of 16 hours per week (paid or voluntary).
Selection will be based on a satisfactory personal statement and reference/employer's recommendation.
All applicants will be considered individually.
Method of Assessment
A portfolio with a range of assignment methods including projects, reports, essay writing and observation in the workplace.
Future Prospects
Degree-level study in Mental Health Nursing, Psychology and Counselling, or Social Work (extra numeracy qualifications may be required).
Enables registering as a practitioner in your workplace.
This nationally recognised qualification enables registration with the Scottish Social Services Council SSSC.
