Modern Apprenticeship - Diploma for Hospitality Team Member Level 5
Course Content
This Modern Apprenticeship is a national qualification that Skills Development Scotland funds for those aged over 16 in paid employment in the Hospitality Industry. The delivery is facilitated at college one day a week in our fully equipped restaurant and bar, where learners are involved in providing a plated lunch service.
Over 12 months learners will develop front of house skills that are relevant within the hospitality industry. The units include: Working as Part of Team, Providing Customer Service, Developing Meta-Skills and Personal Practice, Food & Beverage Service, Hot and Cold Drink Preparation, Barista Services, Food Safety, Allergen Awareness, Health and Safety and Sustainable Practices.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be employed in a suitable post within the hospitality sector, and have completed at least four years of secondary education with National 4 qualifications or equivalent.
Fully funded apprenticeships are available for those aged 16-19.
Those aged 19 and above are partially funded (an employer contribution is required).
Method of Assessment
Ongoing internal observations, portfolio of evidence, paper based and online questions.
Future Prospects
Further study: Diploma in Hospitality at SCQF Level 6, Modern Apprenticeship in Supervision and Leadership at SCQF Level 7 or PDA in Hospitality Operations (Level 7).
