Course Content

This course includes a range of Level 5 subjects which are relevant to careers in health and social care. It includes a variety of care-based subjects designed to underpin knowledge in a range of care settings. Core skills are integrated throughout the programme.

Our full-time level 5 programme is just the beginning of your journey towards employment or further study in this demanding but rewarding field.

Entry Requirements

Three National 4s in academic subjects (or equivalent) or successful completion of a relevant National 4 Certificate course. Adult returners without formal qualifications but who have work or volunteering experience are also welcome.


Selection is based on: a personal statement, qualifications and/or experience and an invitation to a group information session where you will undertake a small practical team and written task.

Applications will be reviewed on an individual basis.

Method of Assessment

Assessments may include practical demonstrations, project work, presentations, report writing, and short answer questions.

Future Prospects

Successful completion may lead to Advanced Certificate in Health, Social Care and Nursing or SWAP Access to Nursing or into employment.
