Certificate in Computing Level 5

Course Content

Have you ever fancied finding out how hackers think - but for the right reasons? Or maybe you’ve wanted to design your own game, build a website, or get your head around how computers actually talk to each other?

This hands-on course gives you the chance to explore it all. You’ll cover ethical hacking, computer networking, game design, and software/web programming, learning loads of practical and problem-solving skills along the way. By the end, you’ll have a solid base to move on to further study or step into your first tech job.

Entry Requirements

Are you the type who loves tech, tinkering, or just figuring things out? Then this could be right up your street!

We’re looking for applicants with at least 8 National 4 qualifications or similar experience, but what really matters is your interest and commitment. If you’re curious, motivated, and ready to give it a go, we’d love to have you on board.

Method of Assessment

Not a fan of endless exams? Don’t worry - we mix things up here. You’ll work on practical tasks, group projects, written work, and hands-on assessments that show what you can actually do, not just what you can memorise.

Future Prospects

Successful completion of this certificate opens up multiple pathways. Graduates may progress to higher-level studies in computing, such as Level 6 Computing.
