Supervisors Award (SSSC Recognised)
Course Content
This award is designed for those working in supervisory roles within the health and social care sector and offers a recognised qualification pathway that meets the requirements set by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for supervisor registration. The two units included in this award—SCDHSC0043: Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of yourself and others and SCDHSC0041: Maintain effective communication systems and practice—are drawn from the SVQ Social Services and Healthcare award at SCQF Level 9. Completion of both units satisfies the SSSC requirement for supervisory qualifications, this an ideal option for those progressing into or already working in supervisory roles.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must have been working in a supervisory role for a minimum of six months. Candidates must hold SVQ 3 Social Services and Healthcare.
Method of Assessment
Unlike traditional classroom-based qualifications, this award is assessed through work-based learning, with methods such as reflective accounts, direct observation, professional discussion, and witness testimony. This allows learners to demonstrate their competence in real-life settings and apply their learning directly to their role.
