Zoe’s invaluable experiences
Zoe Samson has loved sport and physical activity from a young age and knew that a career in the fitness industry is something she wanted to pursue when she left school.
She has spent the last two years at Dundee and Angus College working towards an HND in Fitness, Health and Exercise.
“I have enjoyed learning a lot of new skills through the different practical and theoretical elements of the course. I’ve learned about exercise physiology and anatomy, nutrition, strength and conditioning and many other topics! This year, I’ve been working with a client 1-1 and putting them through a fitness programme - this has allowed me to see first-hand what it’s like to work in the industry.”
During her time at college, Zoe has gained her Level 2 Gym Instructor, Level 2 Kettle Bell and Level 3 Personal Training qualifications and is helping drive the provision of exercise classes to the College community and beyond.
“Alongside studying, I work at the Gardyne Sports Centre as a sports attendant and fitness class instructor. This is giving me a lot of great experience and helping my confidence grow. Once I achieve my HND, I would like to work on starting my own personal training business.”
