Application Process

All international students must apply online in the first instance. We can then assess your eligibility and advise you accordingly.

The latest submission date for overseas applications for session 2025/26 is 30/05/2025.

Once the application is submitted, you will receive an auto-response requesting a copy of your certificates and passport (including the visa page and biometric card if you already have a visa). For certain courses, we may request a criminal record check or a portfolio of artwork. For Dance and Acting & Performance, a DVD is requested when a student cannot attend an audition.

Please upload copies of your current academic certificates, IELTS, and the information pages of your passport or residence card to your application. These documents are required for your ID and assessment.

Offer of a Place

If a conditional offer is made to you it will be conditional upon the receipt of a £8000 full fee, copy of bank statement and the appropriate level of qualifications to meet individual course requirements.

We require an IELTs score of 5.5 minimum (which is CEFR B2 in all 4 categories) for all courses. An exception of an IELTs score of 4.0 minimum (which is CEFR B1 in all 4 categories) is required to start on English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course.
For nursing/healthcare applicants looking to progress to a Nursing degree at university, an IELTS score of 7.0 or above is required for university entry.

Once the conditions are met you will be issued with an Unconditional offer by email. You must check your email regularly. If you do not accept the offer within 28 days the offer will be cancelled and a place on the course offered to someone else.

Applying for a Visa

If you require a visa to study in the UK a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) number and statement will be issued after you received an unconditional offer. This gives you a unique number from UKBA allowing an application for a visa to study at Dundee and Angus College only.

You must put your previous education history in the application form if you previously studied with another institution in the UK. You need to tell us this information in order to obtain a CAS statement. A CAS statement will only be issued to you where you can show progression in your studies.

You will be required to provide a copy of your bank statement to the College before we issue your CAS. The international team will check the date and the remaining balance on the statement is correct and it can be used in the visa application. You are responsible for making the application for a visa and meeting the financial evidence required by UK Visas and Immigration.

Once you have been issued with a visa, you should advise Dundee and Angus College of your success or otherwise and also your arrival date in the UK. It is essential we know your arrival date in the UK and arrival date in Dundee.

If you have any questions at all on either your application or visa application, please contact the International Team.

ESOL: Care of Under 18s

All applicants for ESOL courses, please note we cannot accept students under 18 who do not reside with a parent, carer or legal guardian. All applicants will be required to confirm this status through signing of a Declaration of Residence.
