Student experience

Senior phase pupils had a Halloween themed week where they worked on each other’s hair and face painting.

The Health and Social Care students working on the Life Sciences unit were lucky enough to use the following equipment:  an ECG machine with defibrillator, a small ultrasound scanner and a general modern obs centre which did pulse oximetry, BP/ temperature - just the same as they use on hospital wards.

The students were involved in setting up the stations and then they all got to use the machines on each other - the scanner was most popular as they were able to show how to scan the carotid artery so they could identify something rather than just scanning each other.
