D&A engineering staff undergo training in Advanced Industrial Technologies (LAIT)

Staff from D&A College Engineering section have undergone training in Advanced Industrial Technologies as part of an EU Erasmus supported project.

Linking partners from Spain, Italy, Netherlands and Lithuania together to create a one day course for local business to improve their operations, in areas including; reducing energy and materials consumption, gaining higher efficiency, and better usage of data.

Led by Tekniker, a specialized high tech training facility in the Basque country, the three College staff had training on how to conduct a technology audit on a company’s readiness to implement changes.

The project partners are:

  • Tekniker – Durango, ES
  • APRO – Torino, IT
  • SRC – Kaunas, LT
  • D&A College – Dundee, UK

The project meeting in Dundee in June is the second of the projects two year life, with the roll out of the course to local companies starting in September.

Richard Faint: Project Leader stated: 

“For D&A College this project will develop the technological and organizational skills of staff who are involved in advanced manufacturing (CNC, virtual welding, robotics etc).” 

“The current demands of industrial companies, improve the access, especially to SMEs, as well as foster increased cooperation between the College and international innovation centres.”
