D&A College-NOVA Student Exchange Programme
D&A College-NOVA Student Exchange Programme Archive for 2016
Release Date: 20 November 2017
North Virginia Community College (NOVA) students and staff have recently been with Dundee and Angus College from August to December 2017 from both the Performing Arts and Computing and Computing and Creative Media disciplines.
3 NOVA students have a farewell lunch with members of the D&A College International Team.
Allied to the opportunities to spend 90 days studying overseas, to understand the differences in learning processes and to experience the cultural differences between the two countries, the project is providing an outstanding opportunity for all 12 students and 5 staff from both organisations that will take part.
At D&A, we have an excellent reputation for innovation in the field of performance and dance, with a dedicated centre called The Space - five purpose-built dance studios and a fully resourced theatre that can host curriculum and professional work providing a focus for excellent teaching and leading edge public performances.
The Communication Studies and Theatre (CST) department at NOVA has also built a reputation as one of the premier theatre and film in its region.
The department enrolled over 3,000 students in 2014-2015 academic year and leads two distinct, college-wide programs-NOVA Idol and the NOVA Forensics Team. CDI students at D&A also had the unique opportunity to realise their creativity and business ideas within our purpose built Incubation programme.
The program offers similar courses to D&A and has two degree specialisations in Graphic Design and Interactive Design.
We have similar missions, values, structures, course offerings and practices; however, this partnership is not just between two institutions–it is between two historically connected and internationally recognized “sister cities” with deep-rooted ties.
Both cities are regenerating via waterfront redevelopment leading to economic growth in arts and digital industries - this project will increase learner skills to fulfil these future jobs.
The D&A College-NOVA student exchange programme is supported by Erasmus (European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students), an EU-funded programme.
