College staff and students rolled out a warm welcome to the pastry chef at Number 16, in Glasgow’s west end.

The confectioner was at Kingsway Campus to serve up a demonstration to students on the professional cookery courses.

D&A College has forged links with Helen in the year with bursary-winning students having the chance to work with the pastry chef in the past and chef lecturers exchanging skills with the acclaimed baker.

Lecturer Gerry McMenemy was involved in an industry sugar craft class with Helen and invited her to D&A.

“Helen avidly supports education and was keen to become involved with our students,” said Gerry.

“We were delighted when she accepted our invitation to give a masterclass at D&A.”

Students from both D&A Arbroath and Kingsway Campuses enjoyed attending a demonstration and address from the prize-winning pastry chef.
