As part of the SVQ (level 3) professional cookery programme, the students have launched a retail initiative which invites the public to indulge in artisan products such as salt caramels, fruit and nut bars and pralines – at appealing prices.

With the support of Mathew Trust funding for ingredients and packaging, the students are utilising the chocolate craft skills they’ve learned at Kingsway Campus and aiming to capture the pre-Christmas market with pop-up sales across all three D&A College campuses.

Under the direction of course leader Albert Close, a prize-winning chocolatier, the students will be selling their hand-made, high-class confectionery to the public on Monday, December 12, at the Arbroath Campus in the Isla Building on Keptie Road; the following day at Gardyne Campus, and on Wednesday, Dec 15, at Kingsway Campus.

All three sales are running between 12noon and 3pm.
