SVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering

Course Content

This is a work-based qualification used to assess the competence and knowledge and understanding of apprentices, technicians and employees within a variety of engineering sectors and craft areas. These craft areas include manual machining, CNC machining, maintenance operations, mechanical fitting etc.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to be employed as either an apprentice, technician or current craftsperson within the engineering sector and be supported by their employer to pursue the qualification.

Method of Assessment

Work-based observations by specialist college assessors and compilation of a portfolio of evidence.

Future Prospects

Work as a qualified and competent machinist, CNC operator, mechanical fitter, maintenance operative within a wide variety of engineering sectors.
