VTCT Level 3 - Diploma in Women's Hairdressing

Course Content

This course builds on existing knowledge, skills and understanding of hairdressing and will develop individual technical skills to prepare learners for employment as a senior hairdresser/stylist. Includes mandatory units required to work effectively: Health and Safety; Client Consultation; Advanced Cutting; Styling and Colouring Techniques and Promoting Products and Services to Clients. Specialist topics include creative hairdressing and designing a hairstyle collection. Learners will have their hairdressing skills assessed in a realistic working environment. This qualification's structure provides learners with the flexibility to develop for their designated career pathway.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing (or equivalent) or relevant industry experience. Selection is based on a group information session, skills test and individual interview. A satisfactory reference may be required.

Method of Assessment

Skills are assessed by direct observation. Online exams/open book assessments will take place throughout the course. Research will also be required.

Future Prospects

To gain employment as a Hairdresser in a wide variety of industries. Alternatively, you may choose to develop your knowledge and skills by studying at HNC level.
