Construction Contracting Operations: Estimating (Estimator & Surveyor Technician Modern Apprenticeship)
Modern Apprenticeships offer learners aged over 16 paid employment combined with the opportunity to train for jobs at technician and management level. This qualification covers areas such as preparing estimates, bids and senders, establishing and maintaining the dimensional control of construction works, preparing for and carrying out physical testing in construction as well as assessing, planning and monitoring project methods and progress in construction.
The recruitment and selection of Modern Apprentices is primarily the responsibility of the employer. Employees may enter a Modern Apprenticeship from the age of 16. There is no upper age limit. Learners must be employed where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities, which allows them to gather the required evidence. Entry is at the discretion of the Curriculum & Quality Leader.
Method of Assessment
Work based evidence in the form of observations/witness testimonies/professional discussions. Learners must also complete HNC Quantity Surveying.
Following completion of the Modern Apprenticeship, learners should be able to achieve positions in their area.
