Entry Requirements

Applicants must be working full-time in horticulture and have achieved SVQ Level 2 or equivalent. The course would also be ideal for applicants with a lot of practical experience who may not have any formal qualifications. Applicants must be able to work at SCQF level 6 or above.

Method of Assessment

The theory element of the course is delivered mainly at college. A mixture of workplace assessment and day release classes covers the practical element. You will also be required to complete an online portfolio.

Future Prospects

A Modern Apprenticeship (MA) is the standard expected of a time-served horticulturist, although SVQ Level 4 or HNC/D may offer further progression.
