VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies

Course Content

This course has been designed to develop practical skills and knowledge by covering the following mandatory units: Facial Skincare; Waxing; Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments; Manicure; Pedicure; Client Care and Health and Safety along with optional units such as Nail Art; Make-Up; Skin Tanning, Eyelash Perming and Anatomy which will enhance employability within the industry. The course should develop beauty therapy skills to a high level of occupational ability. This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course you must have a keen interest in Beauty Therapy. You may be invited to a group information session, online interview and potentially complete a skills test. Two National 5 qualifications, Level 1 Beauty/Make Up course or equivalent are preferred but not essential. A satisfactory reference is required. For applicants where English is not their first language then ESOL at Intermediate 2 is required as excellent communication skills are needed.

Method of Assessment

Online closed book assessments and written assignments will take place throughout the course. Skills will be assessed by direct observation.
