VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Womens Hairdressing

Course Content

This course is specifically designed to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare you for employment as a junior hairdresser. Your skills will be practiced in a realistic working environment at our Hair and Beauty school. This qualification includes all of the required skills to work as a junior hairdresser/stylist. You will study Health and Safety; Client Consultation; Shampoo and Conditioning Hair; Researching Working in the Hair Industry; Cutting Women's Hair; Colour and Lighten Hair and the Art of Dressing Hair at a minimum.

Entry Requirements

We look for Level 1 VTCT qualification in hairdressing and/or relevant industry experience preferably with two National 4/equivalent qualifications. For applicants whom English is not their first language then ESOL at SCQF Level 5 or equivalent is required as excellent communication skills are needed. Enthusiasm for the Hairdressing Industry and a creative flair is an advantage. You may be invited to a group information session and online interview and potentially asked to complete a skills test. A reference may be required. 

Method of Assessment

You will be observed carrying out services on family, friends and clients. Research and assignments will be required to gain the knowledge needed. You will have multiple online exams and study will be needed.

Future Prospects

Progression onto a Level 3 Hairdressing course and/or employment in a wide variety of industries as a Junior Hairdresser.
