SVQ Level 2 in Landscaping (Horticulture)
This course is aimed at students who wish to develop skills in hard landscaping. The course is practical with some academic study to build a basic understanding of techniques and theory behind the subject. Essential Skills units are valuable for students who'll put lessons learned into practice in sales, recording, marketing and other areas.
Students will complete Pa1 and Pa6 spraying certificates and Emergency First Aid. Please note that students will incur additional costs for these certificates.

· Establishing and maintaining plants
· Lawn care, Machinery
· Brickwork, Fencing and Surfaces
· Plant propagation
Dates: September 2022 to June 2023
Commitment: 16 hours with a lecturer per week.

NC Introduction to Horticulture level 4 programme, however, applicants with other relevant experience and a genuine interest in the industry will be considered. Reading, writing and numeracy skills essential along with qualifications that show an ability to work at SCQF level 5.
Method of Assessment
Course assessment is by observation of practical tasks, written assignments and garden design projects. Assessment is ongoing throughout the year. Learners will also be required to complete an online portfolio.
Students can progress onto Level 6, Diploma in Horticulture at D&A College or HNC through Argyll College, or into employment in horticulture or other land-based sectors.
