SVQ Level 2 Amenity Horticulture
Topics covered include health & safety, establishing and maintaining plants, lawn care, machinery, plant protection and plant identification. Learners normally take around 18 months to complete SVQ level 2. Pa1, Pa6 spraying certificates and emergency first aid are also covered (this may incur additional cost if not on our Modern Apprentice programme).
Applicants are required to be employed within horticulture or a related industry and must have the ability to work at SCQF level 5 or above.
Method of Assessment
This course is made up of 11 units and is continually assessed throughout the year both at the learner’s workplace and in college.
Most learners progress onto SVQ Level 3 Parks, Gardens and Open Spaces with a view to gaining full-time employment.
