Retail Academy (SVQ Level 2)
Retail is an exciting industry and this programme offers a wide range of training that reflects the diversity of the sector and the multi-channel nature of the changing retail environment. An integral part of this programme allows learners to train in the workplace and develop job related skills required to work within the sector. This qualification covers areas such as: visual merchandising, stock management, health and safety, teamwork, customer service and sales. The course consists of three mandatory units and seven optional units to be selected from an extensive list of options reflecting the wide range of careers.
A minimum of four National 4 qualifications. Consideration will also be given to applicants with other relevant qualifications. Applicants should have a desire to gain employment in the retail industry and will undertake an interview to assess suitability for the course.
Method of Assessment
There will be no end of course test but continual assessment throughout the year and the use of an e-portfolio within the workplace.
Successful completion of this programme will enhance prospects of securing employment within the sector. Further study includes Advanced Certificate in Retail, Marketing and Business.
