Preparation for Applied Science

Course Content

This course will cover the basic theory of science, numeracy and microbiology. There will also be a large practical element to introduce you to laboratory techniques and enable you to improve your scientific communication and project investigation skills. It is an ideal course for those without formal science qualifications that would like to enter into study in this subject area.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirement but applicants may be asked to complete a short diagnostic test.

Method of Assessment

There will usually be an end of unit assessment or report and some units may also have a compulsory practical element in order to achieve the unit.

Future Prospects

Successful completion will allow students to progress onto the Applied Science Fast Track course. Upon completion of both courses, students can then progress onto our Certificate in Applied Science (Level 5/6) course.
