Course Content

The Professional Development Award (PDA) in Hospitality Management at SCQF level 8 supports the continuing professional development of individuals who have gained leadership and management experience and wish to consolidate and enhance their competence as managers.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be in employment in a supervisory capacity or aspiring to a management position within the hospitality industry and have one of the following qualifications: PDA in Hospitality (Level 7), HNC Hospitality Operations (Level 7) or MA in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.

Method of Assessment

The PDA in Hospitality Management will be assessed using a combination of observation, products of work, witness testimony, professional discussions and candidate statements.

The evidence for this PDA will be generated from real work activity in a hospitality setting.

Future Prospects

The units that make up this PDA also contribute to the SVQ in Hospitality Management Skills at SCQF level 8, therefore candidates would have the opportunity of progressing to this qualification.
