NC Engineering Mechanical
Course Content
This course is suitable for learners who wish to develop their skills and knowledge to progress their career within a range of engineering sectors including aviation; defence; medical engineering; manufacturing; and the automotive industry. Subjects covered include Maths; Communications; Dynamics; Thermofluids; Computer Aided Draughting; Materials; Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
Entry Requirements
Progressing students: relevant SCQF Level 5 NC/NQ course in an engineering discipline. Selection is based on previous course outcomes and personal statements.
Four National 5 passes at C grade or above in Maths and preferably English, Physics and an Engineering Technology subject.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria but have relevant work/industry experience will be required to complete an Engineering aptitude test on campus.
Method of Assessment
A mixture of closed book individual assessments, reports, practical work (both individual and group) as appropriate to the module.
Future Prospects
Progression onto HNC Mechanical Engineering or employment opportunities in the engineering/renewable/energy industries.
