Course Content

This course is suitable for learners who wish to develop their skills and knowledge to progress their career within a range of engineering sectors including aviation; defence; medical engineering; manufacturing; and the automotive industry. Subjects covered include Maths; Communications; Dynamics; Thermofluids; Computer Aided Draughting; Materials; Pneumatics and Hydraulics.

Entry Requirements

Four National 5 passes at C grade or above including English, Mathematics, Physics and ideally an Engineering Technology subject. Mature applicants without formal qualifications may be considered based on practical experience.

Method of Assessment

A mixture of closed book individual assessments, reports, practical work (both individual and group) as appropriate to the module.

Future Prospects

Progression onto HNC Mechanical Engineering or employment opportunities in the engineering/renewable/energy industries.
