NC Built Environment
Course Content
This course provides the knowledge and skills required for future employment as a technician within the construction sector. Units covered include; Introduction to Environmental Building Science; Modern Methods of Construction; Construction Project Management; Structural Concepts; and Mechanics for Construction.
A flexible learning programme of study is available for students to attend college while employed within a related discipline. Learners are required to be employed within a related discipline with relevant industry experience. Approval from your employer is required.
Entry Requirements
Two National 5 subjects at grade C or above, preferably in Maths, English and a Science or equivalent NPA Level 5 course. Applicants who do not meet these criteria, but have relevant industry-related experience, will be considered at the discretion of the Curriculum & Quality Leader.
Method of Assessment
This programme is assessed through the submission of written reports, ongoing course assessment and a project.
Future Prospects
Employment opportunities in the built environment sector. Progression to full-time HN construction related programmes.
