National 4 Mathematics
Course Content
This course covers many different topics including percentages, ratios, probability, area and volume, elementary algebra and trigonometry. Comprises four units, each with an internal assessment at the end.
Entry Requirements
Standard Grade Mathematics at 5 or above, a pass at Access 3 Mathematics or National 3 Lifeskills Mathematics, or Intermediate 1 Mathematics at grade D or above. Entry to the course may also be subject to successful completion of a diagnostic test and one-to-one interview.
Method of Assessment
There are 4 assessments during the year, where learners would be required to attend college or an SQA approved centre.
Future Prospects
This level of mathematics is desirable for many different career paths, including some areas of engineering and social sciences. It can also be used as a potential progression path onto National 5 Mathematics.
