Motor Vehicle Modern Apprenticeship
Topics covered including automotive health and safety; skills in materials; fabrication; tools and measuring; devices used in the automotive environment; routine vehicle maintenance; engines and related systems; vehicle transmission systems; vehicle electrical systems; chassis and associated systems; automotive mechanical; lubrication and cooling system units and components; automotive underpinning knowledge and skills; hands on workshop sessions. Essential Skills including Numeracy, Communication, Working with Others, Problem Solving and Information Technology are also a mandatory part of any MA framework and will be studied at SCQF Level 5. Learners are required to attend college one day per week.
Applicants must be employed within the motor vehicle industry. All applicants will be interviewed with their employer to ensure correct criteria is met.
Method of Assessment
Online multi-choice tests, practical assignments and a portfolio of evidence. Assessors will carry out work-based assessments in the workplace.
