Course Content

This course is designed for those who wish to instruct participants in indoor group cycling. It provides evidence of an individual's competence in instructing and has been developed to reflect modern practices in instructing indoor group cycling. Qualification structure:

  • Cycling Anatomy, Physiology and Energy systems

  • Instructing an indoor group cycling class

This qualification aims to assess the competence of those who wish to instruct an indoor group cycling class. Duration and Delivery Mode - 8 hours over 1 day (including assessment). The D&A Award in Instructing Indoor Group Cycling is equivalent to a level 2 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework, but does not provide access on to the Register. Entry on to the Register is gained via a recognised level 2 fitness instructing qualification.

Entry Requirements

Candidates should have either completed the SVQ Level 2 Instructing Exercise and Fitness or have the equivalent experience prior to commencing this course.
