HND Photography - Year 2
This course is ideal for those who have recently completed our Level 6 Photography course or gained suitable experience via Higher Photography or industry. Practical by nature, you will learn and develop skills in our dedicated photography studios alongside our experienced, supportive and friendly staff. Our studios are well-equipped with lighting and photographic equipment, giving you freedom to explore your creativity and develop your portfolio. With a focus on your future professional career, you will develop your independence, organisation and time management skills. Our course is highly regarded across the sector and is ideally placed to also help you progress on to university.
1 relevant Higher/equivalent qualifications, preferred English and Art/Design or successful completion of a relevant SCQF level 6 course (and minimum 85% attendance). At interview a portfolio of work is required such as drawings/designs/photography. Mature applicants without formal qualifications will be considered on presentation of a strong portfolio.
To progress into 2nd year of this course learners must successfully complete all 1st year units and satisfactory attendance, timekeeping and commitment.
Method of Assessment
Continuous internal/external assessment with the focus on portfolio production and submission.
Successful learners may apply to study at degree level at university or go directly in to creative industry employment in areas such as professional photography, exhibitions, editorial, education, fashion etc.
