HNC Travel and Tourism
Our HNC graduates are well placed to work within national and international tourism markets. The sector is worth £11 billion to the Scottish economy every year alone and is a growth industry world wide. We provide a wide cross-section of theoretical and practical skills required by the travel and tourism industry. We incorporate classroom based study with off-campus visits to provide you with a range of skills and knowledge. Topics of study include: International Tourism; Marketing; Customer Service; Working as Senior Air Cabin Crew; Airline and Travel Agency operations; Sustainability; Attraction Visits.
Applicants should have at least one Higher at C level or above or a relevant NQ/NC Award with at least 12 units. Relevant life/work experience or other qualifications will also be considered. Applicants will attend an interview and undertake a written exercise to determine their suitability for the course.
Method of Assessment
Continuous assessment in the form of classroom based, short-answer questions, independent research reports and presentations.
HND Travel and Tourism or entry to a relevant degree programme at university. Employment within the industry may be available on successful completion.
