HNC Hospitality Operations

Course Content

This course is designed to enable candidates to obtain the key competencies required for entry into operational, supervisory and management positions in a wide range of hospitality businesses. Mandatory units include; Hospitality Industry; Hospitality Supervision; Hospitality Financial and Control Systems; Food Hygiene Intermediate; Food and Beverage Service and Graded Unit. 

Entry Requirements

Two Highers at grade C or above or a relevant SCQF level 6. All applicants will attend an information session and an interview for selection and may be asked to provide a reference. Applicants must have a keen interest and a passion for the hospitality industry. Consideration may be given to those who do not meet the qualification criteria but have relevant experience.

Method of Assessment

Internal continuous assessments using various methods including open-book assessments, closed-book assessments, observations and projects.

Future Prospects

This qualification enables progression to a level 8 course or access to second year entry point at university. It enhances employment opportunities at management level within the hospitality industry.
